 Every cricketer across the year travels to different countries & cities of the world to represent their nation & clubs and always have to give their best performance to help their team win. Every team player not only faces competition from the opposite team players but also has to adjust with the changing weather conditions,which plays an important psychological role on his mind & body. If they are able to adjust those bouncy weather conditions half the battle is won. That is reason why   every team has a physiotherapist & fitness trainer, who arranges various sessions with their team players so that they remain in a good state of mind & better body reflexes which surely helps them to perform and deliver their best on any given day.

And when there are glamorous,thrilling and nail biting tournaments like IPL back down in India every cricketer is tested not only by their performances but also by their fitness level.And this year when 1st leg would be played in UAE & 2nd leg in INDIA players will have to fly down more hours,ultimately leaving them with a busy cricketing season.

And being an avid traveller & a true cricket fan i feel i could Dare to travel with the Daredevils and share some of my personal travel tips & unique ideas with Team Delhi Daredevils so even they could turn out handy for my team. KP & Co. please go through my list & follow those pointers if possible ;)


To keep it simple i have 6 Travel Tips to be shared which i personally follow in my routine travel journeys.

1. TURNING OFF GADGETS WHILE ON FLIGHT HOURS & GO TO SLEEP.
Before boarding the flight i always have an intense exercise which helps me reach the sound sleep level.
Once on board the best thing to do is to shut off all the gadgets,drink some water,breathe deeply,meditate & then simply go to sleep. This short nap of 45-75 minutes not only stimulates my body system but also gives a sense of freshness. This idea could go well with players since they hardly get sound sleep because of their hectic cricketing schedule.

2. EAT HEALTHY FOOD & ADJUST WELL WITH CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
I always follow good eating habits. The best time to have a healthy meal is while staying in hotel. I generally have a high protein breakfast with oatmeal & yoghurt with a bowl of skimmed milk. But at times there are various business meets & conferences where i strictly follow my rule : NO JUNK FOODS.
Similar situation arises with cricketers who during the whole course of tournaments like IPL have to attend meets & greets,conferences,ad shoots where there is highest possibilities of snacks like muffins,pastries,cupcakes on serving tables & keeping away from this stuff surely helps the players to keep their blood sugar level under check which do not make them feel tired while they are on field diving from one end to other to save boundaries ultimately saving few runs for their team. Avoid having breads,pastas and other highly processed foods in lunch since they tend to make you fall sleep and this could lower your enthusiasm during afternoon IPL matches. Say NO TO ALCOHOLIC DRINKS since they contain a lot of calories which makes you feel dehydrated the next morning. Following this idea will surely help KP & Co. burn calories without resorting to Junk & Processed Foods.
THE BETTER YOUR EATING HABITS - THE MERRIER WILL BE YOUR BODY BALANCE.

3.HAVE ABUNDANCE OF WATER,SHAKES,JUICES TO REMAIN HYDRATED.
While flying across the globe we all come across change of time zones,different weather conditions,waiting period at airports lounge or at hotels which may make us feel dehydrated. The best way to remain hydrated is to have more & more liquids.DRINK-DRINK-DRINK. p.s. I am talking about Water & Juices and not alcohol ;) I make a habit to have juices on regular intervals and hence keep few bottles in my bag which i am ready to share with TEAM DELHI DAREDEVILS only if i get a chance to fly with them.

4.STAY IN TOUCH WITH YOUR LOVED ONE'S TO GIVE YOU MORALE SUPPORT.
Whenever i am travelling for months away from my family i make a point to remain in touch with them on a regular basis.And in today's modern world of technology everyone now remains connected on a single click.Skype & Tango has minimized the communication gap and helps me stay in touch with my family & friends even while i am travelling. This point is very important for cricketers since they never know when a bad day at field arrives. Since T20 cricket is very fast and a  format where there are ups & downs on a regular basis,every players enjoys both good days & bad days on field. During good form everyone applauds you but one odd day and points are raised at your calibre & class. This is the time when every players needs to get connected with their loved ones,since they celebrate with your success & also motivates you while your failure. " FORM IS TEMPORARY - CLASS IS FOREVER "

5.FORGET YESTERDAY BEFORE GOING ON BED TO SLEEP.
The idea to share in this point is that before going to bed to sleep never think of things happened with you during that given day,because such activities will continuously replay in your mind and will not let you sleep.
Same goes with cricketers getting the MAN OF THE MATCH on that given night and thinking about the same during the whole night will ultimately make you sleep late and this will affect your preparations for next game. And many times we have noticed that one players who has performed very well yesterday tends to fail on the next day,because he did not Move Forward : FORGETTING THE PAST & PERFORMING IN PRESENT. The best way to forget the day happenings is to have a hot shower and then read few magazines.

6.REGULAR WORKOUTS TO KEEP THE FITNESS LEVEL UP.
While travelling there are times that i do not get time to hit the floors of Gym,but i make a point to keep a small rubber exercise band in my bag with which i can exercise in my room or anywhere else.I always make a point to perform some yoga asanas every morning since these asanas makes my morning pleasant by a giving a relaxation to my muscles. For every cricketer workout is a must.A walk at a beach will also help to keep the fitness level up. With workout comes good reflexes and strong forearm and to enhance their fielding abilities workout is an essential activity which should never me missed. Also if possible head towards your hotel swimming pool and have som time spend at the pool giving relaxation to your muscles.
